Kohinoor,
a versatile individual, is an accomplished writer, lyricist, poetess, composer, singer, dancer, actress, and a psychologist.
Kohinoor wrote her first piece of poetry at the age of eight. Since then, she has written numerous
thumris, ghazals, and geet as well, and composed, sang, choreographed and performed them. She has won numerous awards
and accolades in Kathak dancing and singing. She has a bachelor's degree in vocal music from Khairagarh university, as
well as a master's degree in kathak from Prayag University. In kathak she is the disciple of eminent Gurus like Pt.
Natraj Ram Vilas Rai, Pt.Shridhar Vyaas, Pt.Kalyan Ramji, and Pt. Birju Maharaj.

Kohinoor started singing early in her life, and went on to become a radio artist. She has performed
in numerous events and venues, in various cities and with several bands, both in India and the U.S. In the Bay Area,
Kohinoor is well- known as a poetess and singer. She has had the privilege of singing with famous artists such as Manna
Dey, Abhijeet (Bombay), and Usha Utthup in live concerts. She is also a popular anchor, master of ceremonies and
moderator of programs in the Bay area. In addition, Kohinoor has directed dance dramas and participated in several
plays as an actress.

Included in Kohinoor's list of professional degrees are a Master degree in Social Work in
addition to a Master degree and a Ph.D degree in Psychology. She has been practicing as a psychotherapist, working with
children's, individual, marital, and family issues. However, she is now sequencing her career with raising her two
loving boys, Ayush and Suhail. Her husband, Sreejit, is her pillar of support and strength in all her artistic and non artistic endeavors.
